Rensselaer County has announced their rabies vaccination clinics for 2016. During these clinics Rensselaer County Department of Health staff will provide the appropriate rabies vaccination and booster shots as mandated by the New York State Department of Health. These shots will be provided for dogs, cats and ferrets. Owners are required to present their pets’ most recent immunization certificate. All pets must be secured either in a carrier or on a leash.

There is no charge for these vaccinations, but they do accept donations.
The first hour of each clinic is dedicated to cats and ferrets and the second hour will be dedicated to dogs. If you would like a three year rabies vaccine you must bring a copy of the last rabies certificate.

Is there a schedule for rabies vaccinations for 2017??
I have been watching the Rensselaer County website, but as of today (1/30/17) they still only have the 2016 list up. Apparently it hasn’t been updated yet. I will post it as soon as it’s updated.
I’m new to the area, just got a puppy, I’ve always done at home shots, and where I lived we had rabie vaccination clinics,where it’s free but accepts donations is this similar? And will a 2017 list be up as well? My pupp is only 11 weeks still too soon however it’ll be great to know when/where I can get her the vaccine.
The Rensselaer County rabies vaccination clinics are similar. You may want to try your local Tractor Supply too. I know the one in Schodack (not sure where you are located) has a clinic every Sunday morning for discounted vaccinations.
