I’ve rescued several strays throughout my lifetime that cost a pretty penny to get them spayed or neutered and vaccinated in order to adopt them out. I want to share with you a list of local groups that offer low cost spay and neuter programs. Many of them also offer vaccinations at a considerable savings.
Female cats $75, Male Cats $65, Female dogs under 50 lbs. $100, Female dogs over 50 lbs. $120, Male dogs under 50 lbs. $75, Male dogs 51-80 lbs. $95, Male dogs over 80 lbs. $110.
Reduced rates are available to those who income qualify.
Rabies and FVRCP (distemper) vaccinations are included in the price of surgery. Services available for an additional fee include feline leukemia testing, heartworm testing and microchipping.
There are two pricing levels for these services depending upon the pet owner’s income. The Society has received a grant to spay or neuter pets belonging to individuals on public assistance. If you are currently receiving public assistance, you may qualify to spay or neuter your cat for only $30. To spay a Pit Bull type dog, your fee may be as low as $1.
(Spaying Capital Region Unowned Feral Felines), is a feral cat trap-neuter-vaccinate-return (TNvR) program. Price includes spay/neuter, rabies shot & distemper shot (FIV/FELV test extra) – prices were not listed on their website.
$75.00 per cat, which includes the surgery, a rabies vaccine, a distemper vaccine and nail trimming. Combination test for feline leukemia and FIV (feline AIDS) is $25.00, a feline leukemia test for $20.00, and flea and tick prevention for a $10.00 fee. (Cats only)
