We Are Pet Sitters, Not Janitors

The majority our pet sits are enjoyable.  We usually love the pets were are visiting and we get to enter a lot of homes we’ve always admired from afar.  Every once in a while however one comes through that we really don’t enjoy.  I’ve gotten a lot better over the years asking questions from callers before we agree to meet with them to weed out the undesirables. golden retrievers with party hats

August 4, 2015 marks our FIFTEENTH year in business!  Wow, did that go by fast or what?  I’m happy to say we are still pet sitting for many of the clients we signed up when we first opened.  We’ve seen so many pets come and go in fifteen years.  It’s heartbreaking to have to say goodbye to some of our longtime friends as they get older and cross over the Rainbow Bridge.  We’ve also seen many other pet sitting services come and go, but we are still going strong! Why Your Pet Sitter Wants You To Leave Your Air Conditioning On

upside down grey and white cat

Like everyone else I’m sure you’re feeling the pain of the dramatic rise in energy costs this year.  I’m sure it’s very tempting to turn off your air conditioning to try and save some money while you’re away.  While we completely agree with trying to save money, we beg you not to turn the air conditioning off completely.  You want your pets to be comfortable, right?  Your pet sitter also wants to be comfortable while visiting your pets.  If you shut your air off your pet sitter gets to sit in your sweltering house, sweating their derriere off.  It’s not very enjoyable. How I Got Our Kitten To Stop Peeing Around The House

baby orange polydactyl kitten

If you’re new to this blog this is Bob.  You can read all about how Bob came into our life here.

Bob was about six months old when, on the day I was scheduled to take him to the vet for his appointment to be neutered, I discovered that he had been peeing all over our house and not in the litterbox.  He had peeing in our closets and wherever he could. I hoped that perhaps the neutering would cure the issue but it did not.  I followed up with our vet to make sure there was nothing physically wrong.  There wasn’t.  Continue reading
