You Feed A Raw Diet? No Problem!

During our initial consultation to sign up a new client we always go over feeding details.  What you feed, where it’s located, how much you feed and how often.  We also ask about any allergies your pet may have to food.  I’m often surprised at the number of people who are hesitant about telling us they feed a raw diet.  They are afraid we’ll be grossed out by it or think it’s unsafe and we won’t want to do it. Do Your Pets Shed A Lot?

I admit, before I started pet sitting I knew very little about pet nutrition. I bought into the glossy, slick ads I saw on TV and in magazines and thought that 9Lives, Beneful and Meow Mix were packed full of nutrition and my pets would thrive on them. I mean, it shows pretty pictures of whole meat and veggies on TV, right? It HAS to be true, right?  The more I’ve learned, the more horrified I am that I actually fed my animals that stuff. Having Celiac Disease myself I know just how detrimental certain things (for me, it’s wheat, barley and rye – ie., gluten) can be when ingested and what the outward physical symptoms can be.
